Things to know before you travel to Jodhpur
Language: Most people can speak Hindi fluently. Some are even well versed in English.
Ideal time to visit: November to March is the ideal time to visit Jodhpur when the weather is pleasant and ideal for exploring the city’s forts, markets, and historic lanes.

How to reach Jodhpur?
Reaching Jodhpur is fairly convenient as the Blue City is well connected by air, rail, and road to major metropolitan cities in India. If you prefer trains, Jodhpur Junction railway station is a major railhead with frequent connections to cities such as Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata. How to commute within city?
While Uber, Ola, and Rapido operate across Jodhpur, I would recommend exploring the old city by auto-rickshaw. The narrow, winding lanes are often too tight for cars, making autos a far more convenient and efficient way to get around.
Pro tip: Always bargain when taking an auto. Auto drivers often quote higher fares to tourists, so it’s best not to accept the first price and negotiate a little before starting your ride.

Mehrangarh Fort
Perched dramatically on a rocky hill above Jodhpur, Mehrangarh Fort is one of the largest and most magnificent forts in India. Built in the 15th century by Rao Jodha, the fort rises nearly 400 feet above the city, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Jodhpur’s famous blue houses. Gulab Sagar Lake
